CREATIVE BRIEF (ErgoSleeve, Meine Studios. DCT #38 "My All-Time Favorite Laptop Sleeve")

Written by Hugo Fetiza · Video · 3 hooks, 1 shared hold, 3 total ads · Approach: Imitation

SUB-AVATAR

Sarah, the hybrid commuter. Works home, office and cafes, a different desk every day, packs light, wants one clean object that protects, lifts and looks the part.

WHY THIS FORMAT WINS

A personal recommendation is the only format where one person can naturally walk through the entire transformation, sleeve in the bag, the fold, the screen rising, the wrist pad, the pouch, without it feeling like a feature list, because she is describing what happens when she sits down. When the mechanism itself resolves the avatar's problem on screen, the ad does not need to convince. It just needs to be watched.

HOOK 1 (the primary bet)

"If you work out of cafes and coworking spaces as much as I do, then you need to know about my all-time favorite laptop sleeve."

HOOK 2 (pain entry)

"I spent so long making my desk beautiful, and then there was my laptop gear, ruining it right in the middle."

HOOK 3 (the compliment entry)

"I travel with just my laptop and this sleeve now, and people ask me about it everywhere I set up."

THE HOLD, BEAT 2, THE MONEY SHOT

"In your bag it's just this slim, gorgeous vegan leather sleeve, but the second you sit down, one fold lifts your screen up, so you're not staring down at your laptop anymore and your wrists land on a soft pad built right into the front."

THE CLOSE

"It is easily the most well-thought-out thing I have ever bought for my laptop, and you can try it for 30 days risk-free at Meine Studios."

DELIVERY DIRECTION

This is a recommendation, not a pitch. Full flowing sentences, warm and unhurried, like telling a friend over coffee. No punchy fragments, no hype energy. Talent reads as a put-together professional woman in her 30s or 40s, not an influencer. Do not name the brand before the final beat: the product reveals itself through the fold.

COMPLIANCE LOCKS

No Trustpilot or rating citations. No medical claims. Eye level and wrist relief stay support-and-feel language. The 30-day guarantee is the risk reversal, not a borrowed trust stat.

Novexa Health (US kids' growth gummies, DTC supplement)

Concept: DCT #1, "The 4-Month Growth Timeline". Ships as the CGI skeleton explainer.

THE FOUR MOVES

1. A direct-promise hook with a number and a timeframe. This one proved that a zero-mystery hook can win on this account when the METHOD is the open loop rather than the claim.

2. Indict first: her failed effort gets explained by the mechanism BEFORE the product appears anywhere.

3. The expectations ladder. Week and month checkpoints, each one owned by a single ingredient at its real dose, so the promise is auditable instead of vague.

4. The guarantee fused to the measurable ritual the ladder just set up, the wall the child gets measured against.

WHAT IT DID

Sixteen live ads across three of the brand's ad accounts, $59,643 in spend and 958 purchases. Meta's own budget algorithm kept it at 30% of every CBO it sat in for 88 days, 42% of June, and 66% of the campaign on its best day. It is still the base every later brief on the account gets written against.

RachelWear (US, 3D sculpting anti-cellulite compression leggings)

Concept: H3 Big Swing Iteration, Sub-Avatar 1B. The ad that shipped from it is H3.2, "If it's smooth, it's not working".

Written by Hugo Fetiza

Format: Video. Female AI face delivering to camera, age matched at 47, mixed UGC and B-roll.

THE DESIRE

"I want to reduce cellulite."

THE ANGLE

The burned cream buyer who finally found something that reached the layer everything else missed.

WHY THIS ONE

The winning script proved that the credibility-signal format converts at Stage 4 to 5 sophistication. The original targeted Sub-Avatar 1A and used the Trustpilot reviewer as the credibility anchor. Sub-Avatar 1B is a stronger conversion candidate for this format because her product graveyard is deeper, her spending is higher, and her trust collapse is more complete. When someone who has spent hundreds across every product category says this one was different, the credibility signal lands harder than it does coming from a legging buyer specifically.

WHAT

Three Marksman hooks, each entering through a different dimension of her cream and treatment graveyard, feeding one universal hold: her burned history, Rachel's discovery, the mechanism adapted to her world, passive-wear proof, the results timeline, and a challenge CTA that loops back to her bathroom cabinet.

THE SKELETON IT LOCKED IN

Burned-skeptic frame, then the texture verification she can run with her own hand, then week-six proof in the same dressing-room mirror, then the 90-day guarantee. That skeleton became the base every later iteration in the account was written against.

WHAT IT DID

$15,434 spend, 2.04 ROAS, 514 purchases in its peak 30-day window. The biggest winner in the account.

Concept: DCT #7 "The Protocol Wars"

Written by Hugo Fetiza

Type: Video. Approach: Iteration. Status in the roadmap: Winning Ad.

THE DESIRE

"I want to feel confident administering meds on calls."

THE ANGLE

Know when the drug fails, not just when it works. The right answer depends on where you ask. Surface memorization breaks under pressure. Mechanism-level understanding beats name-level recall. Protocol debates expose the gap between studying and knowing.

WHO IT IS AIMED AT

Students and medics who can name the drug but freeze when asked WHY it works, or what to do when it does not. People who do not realise they have a gap until this ad shows them one.

THE MECHANIC

The format presents a clinical scenario where the "right" answer depends on which department you ask, which starts a protocol debate in the comments. The body then explains the pharmacology underneath the debate, so the viewer either learns something (gap equals product need) or gets validated (engagement equals shares).

THE POSITIONING

The product is positioned as the upgrade from name-level memorization to mechanism-level understanding, through visual encoding. Market awareness is Stage 4: they are already studying with Quizlet or handwritten cards, but nothing they have explains the WHY. The debate proves that is not enough.

THE CLOSE

Pass guarantee removes the risk. Color-coding, 30,000 students passed, and the EMS World award close the comparison.

WHAT SHIPPED

CREATIVE BRIEF (ErgoSleeve, Meine Studios. DCT #2 "Aesthetic Sarah")

Written by Hugo Fetiza · Video · 3 hooks, 1 shared hold, 3 total ads · Approach: Ideation

THE CORE AVATAR

The desk as identity. Sarah buys the object that looks right. The ergonomic benefit is the justification, not the pitch.

SUB-AVATAR

35 to 45, design-led woman with a curated desk and bag. "This is so gorgeous." "Need the green to match my Goyard bag." "Matches the vibe of my desk."

WHY

Aesthetic and desk-match is 5.0% of own-channel comments, second only to purchase intent and above every functional theme. She converts on taste, not on neck pain.

HOOK 1, THE AESTHETIC EXCEPTION

"i made my whole desk aesthetic, then I saw my cheap plastic laptop stand right in the middle of it."

HOOK 2, PRETTY AND SECRETLY FUNCTIONAL

"something this pretty has no business also fixing how i sit all day."

HOOK 3, THE MATCH FLEX

"here's the laptop setup that finally matches my desk and my bag."

THE HOLD, WHERE LOOK MEETS MECHANISM

"most stands perch your laptop on two thin fold-out arms, so it rocks every time you type. this folds into one solid wedge that sits flat under the whole laptop, so there's nothing to wobble. and it's vegan leather that comes in colors, not cheap bare metal, so it's the nicest thing on the desk."

THE CLOSE

"so my desk finally looks the way i pictured it, and the prettiest piece is the one doing the most."

EDITING

Voiceless, on-screen text only, trending audio, styled desk aesthetic. The wow is the beautiful object unfolding into the working stand. Show the colourway and the leather, and show the solid wedge sitting flat plus a no-wobble typing beat so the stability claim is earned. No eye-level overclaim: the tilt is about 20 degrees, so the line is "i'm not staring down."

SUB-AVATAR

Worried mom of a small kid, the winning sub-avatar carried over from batch 252.

WHY

Goli's cutting-board template was printing in the category. I wanted our worried mom dropped into it, with a MOM on camera. Figured-this-out energy, not pediatrician-with-a-clipboard energy.

WHAT

Same sub-avatar, same K2 and D3 mechanism payoff, beat matched to the reference's five-beat flow: a symptom stack she recognises, the pivot to the one thing, the product walkthrough, real customer reviews floating in, then the CTA.

STRUCTURE

Three spoken hooks plus one hookless cold open, all feeding the same body. Variants 1 to 3 differ ONLY in beat 1. Variant 4 opens in media res with the cutting already underway.

HOOK 1

"If your son is the shortest kid in his class and you've already tried calcium gummies that didn't move anything, listen up. That was my son two years ago, and I finally figured out what was wrong."

HOOK 2

"My son sat at the back of every class photo for three years. The marks on the wall stopped moving in 2024. I tried four different gummies on Amazon before I figured out what was actually missing."

THE DEBUNK (beat 3, shared)

"No, it wasn't more calcium. Trust me, I tried that for six months and his bones couldn't even use it."

THE MECHANISM (beat 4, shared)

"K2 is the cofactor his old gummy was missing. K2 is what routes calcium into bone instead of letting it drift through his body and get wasted."

STAGING

Mom in her 30s or 40s at the kitchen counter, chopping real food while she talks. Single static wide. Four real customer-review screenshots composited into the corners during beat 5.

CREATIVE BRIEF (ErgoSleeve, Meine Studios. DCT #23 "Gift for my always-working friend")

Written by Hugo Fetiza · Video with voiceover and burned-in captions · 3 hooks, 1 shared hold · Approach: Ideation

SUB-AVATAR

The Gift Buyer. Buying for the friend who is always working, at brunch, on trips, laptop always open.

THE BREAKTHROUGH MEMO

Gifting is one of the strongest organic purchase modes in the research. People literally buy multiples for kids, partners, the writer friend, and it is barely used in the ad library. A gift POV opens a buyer we are not talking to, and it sidesteps the "is this worth it for me" hesitation entirely, because it is a gift.

HOOK 1, THE ALWAYS-WORKING FRIEND

"i have that one friend who's somehow always working even when we're supposed to be hanging out, so i got her a gift"

BRIDGE 1

"like we'll be at brunch or on a trip and her laptop's already open, hunched over it on whatever table she can find, and i wanted to get her something she'd actually use every single day, not another candle"

HOOK 3, SHE'S OBSESSED WITH IT

"if you've got a friend who never stops working, i found the gift, and she's obsessed with it now"

THE HOLD, WHY IT IS THE RIGHT GIFT

"it looks like just a slim sleeve, which is where her laptop goes in her bag, but then it folds open into a stand, so wherever she sits down, cafe, hotel, her kitchen table, she's got a real setup in a couple seconds. and it's soft vegan leather in these gorgeous colors, so it feels like an actual gift, not some plastic gadget."

DELIVERY

Voiceover, warm and a little playful, like she is telling you about her friend. Open on the always-working setup, then reveal the gift and the fold.

CREATIVE BRIEF (ErgoSleeve, Meine Studios. DCT #20 "Things on my desk that just make sense")

Written by Hugo Fetiza · Video, voiceless · 3 hooks, 1 shared hold · Approach: Imitation of a live TikTok trend format

THE CORE AVATAR

The desk as identity. She buys the object that looks right, and the function is the justification, not the pitch.

SUB-AVATAR

The Desk-Aesthetic Curator, with the "where did you get that" compliment-magnet flavour.

THE BREAKTHROUGH MEMO

Script content is not performing and this account rewards short voiceless trend demos. The reference video is exactly that lane doing numbers, so we borrow the structure and pacing and drop the ErgoSleeve into it, keeping the aesthetic angle since posture as the lead is not landing.

HOOK 1 (matches the reference)

"things on my desk that just make sense" over a desk POV with the laptop lying flat and her hand reaching in.

HOOK 2 (the compliment magnet)

"the thing on my desk everyone keeps asking me about"

HOOK 3 (the aesthetic gap)

"the one thing that finally made my whole desk look put together" over a desk POV where the flat laptop is the odd one out.

THE HOLD, WITH THE FOLD AS THE TURN

"wait, why is this actually so cute?! it's like actual soft leather, not some plastic gadget." Then the fold, with short labels pinned on the parts as it opens: the sleeve, folds into a stand, built-in wrist rest. Then: "it lifts your whole laptop right up off the flat desk, and there's a spot built in so your wrists actually get to rest."

THE CLOSE

"i can't believe the prettiest thing on my desk is also the one i actually use the most."

EDITING

Voiceless. On-screen captions that read like she is talking, plus short pinned labels on the parts, all over the trending sound, and the fold lands on the beat. Neck relief appears once as a light aside, never as the lead.

CREATIVE BRIEF (ErgoSleeve, Meine Studios. DCT #31, one-liner hook plus product showcase)

Written by Hugo Fetiza · Video, voiceless, over a trending sound · 6 one-liners over one shared showcase · Approach: Ideation

SUB-AVATAR

The Desk-Aesthetic Curator by default, with the bench spanning surprise, not-ordinary and tried-everything buyers so several angles get read at once.

THE BREAKTHROUGH MEMO

One-liner-over-showcase is the cheapest, fastest thing to batch and it isolates the hook completely, because the line is the only copy in the ad. That makes it the purest read available on which angle stops the scroll, before we pour production into a full concept. The product does the rest: the fold is inherently satisfying, so the showcase carries the watch time on its own.

THE SIX LINES UNDER TEST

1. "it's a sleeve, a stand, and a wrist rest in one"

2. "finally, a laptop sleeve that turns into a stand that isn't ugly plastic"

3. "everyone keeps asking where my laptop setup is from"

4. "the chicest laptop sleeve i've ever owned"

5. "chic enough that people keep asking where it's from"

6. "your laptop needs a new accessory"

EDITING

Voiceless, the one-liner on screen up top, satisfying b-roll showcase under it, and the fold hits early to pay off the line. Everything cut from existing footage, so the whole batch costs almost nothing to produce.

CREATIVE BRIEF (ErgoSleeve, Meine Studios. DCT #40 "5 Reasons This Saved Me On My Trip")

Written by Hugo Fetiza · Video, voiceless · 3 hook cards, 1 shared body · Approach: Imitation · 18 to 20 seconds

SUB-AVATAR

The Frequent Traveler. Works from trains, planes, hotels, cafes and client offices, packs light, wants everything protected and organised on the move.

WHY, THE FORMAT IS THE BET

This is a voiceless overlay listicle proven at scale. The reference has run 179 days straight and holds the number one impression rank out of 610 ads in its category, which means Meta's own delivery system has voted this structure a winner with cold audiences. It works because it is built for how people actually scroll: sound off, thumb moving, and every reason card is a fresh mini-hook that re-earns the next second of attention five times in a row.

HOOK CARD 1 (the primary bet)

"5 reasons why this saved me on my trip"

HOOK CARD 3 (the curiosity entry)

"my whole office fit in my laptop sleeve" with the small line "here's how it survived 2 weeks of travel"

THE FIVE REASONS (the shared body)

1. Protected my laptop the whole way. 2. Didn't need to pack a laptop stand, one fold and the sleeve became my stand. 3. Built-in wrist rest, my wrists stopped hurting on long work days. 4. Kept my charger and cables organised. 5. Folds completely flat, takes zero space in my bag.

EDITING

Handheld phone-shot, natural light, real locations. B-roll should read as her real trip, not a studio shoot. The music is critical: a currently trending sound, not stock library, cut to the beat, because in this format the BGM carries pacing and retention. No brand name on screen before the end card.

COMPLIANCE

No Trustpilot or rating citations. The wrist line stays a felt experience, never a medical claim.

THE STRUCTURE (from the account's own winner ledger)

Novexa Health (US kids' growth gummies, DTC supplement)

Concept: B.333 "Japan Story". Dad testimonial carried by a historical natural experiment.

THE FIVE MOVES

1. A historical natural experiment as the belief-breaker. Population scale, verifiable, and it needs no doctor on screen.

2. A find that is EARNED: 2 AM, years of bad advice, a real wound. The account's cleanest compliance with the rule that a discovery is never lucky.

3. Mechanism introduced INSIDE the proof story, not delivered as a lecture.

4. Reveal as a checklist match, plus one lived practical benefit: zero sugar, so no morning fight.

5. A soft CTA that stays in the dad's voice: read what is in it.

CREATIVE BRIEF (ErgoSleeve, Meine Studios. DCT #25 "Wait it does all this")

Written by Hugo Fetiza · Video, voiceless · 3 hooks, 1 shared hold · Approach: Imitation of a live study-aesthetic reveal

SUB-AVATAR

The Desk-Aesthetic Curator, studytok flavour. She buys the object that looks right, and the function is the justification, not the pitch.

THE BREAKTHROUGH MEMO

Same voiceless reveal that fits us best, but loaded with the golden nuggets the research surfaced: the surprise extras that drive perceived value, the wrist rest people pick it over other sleeves for, and the cooling air gap almost nobody in the category sells. Stacking real delight moments into the reveal gives people more reasons to stop and want it, without touching posture.

HOOK 1, TRANSFORMATION

"no bc why does my laptop sleeve turn into a stand" over the sleeve flat, then a quick fold tease inside the first three seconds.

HOOK 2, SURPRISE VALUE

"i did not expect my laptop sleeve to come with all this"

HOOK 3, COMPLIMENT MAGNET

"everyone keeps asking where my laptop setup is from"

THE HOLD, ONE REACTION PER SHOT

1. "okay first, the leather is so soft" 2. "and it keeps my laptop safe in my bag" 3. "but then... it folds into a stand" (the fold, the satisfying beat, held longest) 4. "so my whole laptop lifts right up off the desk" 5. "and there's a wrist rest built in, which no other sleeve i've tried even has".

EDITING

Voiceless, one short caption per cut, aesthetic study sound, ASMR on the fold, cozy desk. Aesthetic leads. Posture stays out.

CREATIVE BRIEF (Novexa Growth Guide, batch 283, author column: Hugo Fetiza)

Novexa Health (US kids' growth gummies, DTC supplement)

Concept: DCT #283, the osteocalcin rewrite of the growth-plate education ad. 100% AI generated.

SUB-AVATAR

The parent who believes height is mostly genetic and is already doing the obvious things, milk, calcium, a multivitamin, with nothing to show for it.

WHY

The old angle was thin. It opened on "40% isn't genetic", listed nutrition, sleep and stress, then dumped the full ingredient list. That competes on the same complete-formula ground as everyone and hands the parent no single mechanism to hold onto. Osteocalcin is untouched in the market and ownable for us. Leading with it flips the parent's own behaviour into the problem: she has been giving milk and calcium for months and up to 80% of it never reached the bone.

WHAT CHANGES

Same growth-plate education format, same three hooks and bridges, same soft educational tone, same deadline close. The only thing that changes is the hold. Out goes the generic three-stats-and-a-list, in comes a single-mechanism story: calcium is being wasted, osteocalcin is the delivery driver, K2 is the switch, and Novexa is built around that switch.

HOOK 3

"There's a deadline on your son's height, and almost no parent knows when it hits."

THE HOLD, THE LOAD-BEARING PARAGRAPH

"You can give your son all the milk and calcium in the world, and up to eighty percent of it will never reach his bones. The reason is a protein called osteocalcin. Think of osteocalcin as a delivery driver. Its only job is to pull calcium out of the bloodstream and lock it into growing bone. No driver, no delivery, and the calcium goes to waste. But osteocalcin doesn't switch on by itself. It stays dormant until one nutrient activates it, and that nutrient is vitamin K2."

THE INDICTMENT THAT DOES NOT BLAME HER

"So parents do everything right for months, the milk, the gummies, the vitamins, and see nothing change, because none of it was ever getting delivered."

PRODUCTION

AI avatar talking head with AI B-roll over the stat callouts and the osteocalcin explanation. Reads like a doctor explaining something on TikTok, not a brand pitching.

Concept: DCT #276 "Mom Holds Two Bottles". Production: 100% AI generated.

SUB-AVATAR

Worried mom of a small kid, carried over from the batch 252 winner.

WHY

The two-products-held-side-by-side template was printing in supplements. We adapt it by having the worried mom hold up her son's OLD calcium gummy in one hand and Novexa in the other. Same better-together framing, recast as compare and upgrade.

WHAT

Six beats: point at the missing ingredient on the old bottle, deconstruct the old calcium gummy, deconstruct Novexa with the K2 reveal, the magic reveal, real-review proof, flavour demo and close.

HOOK VARIANTS

1. Mechanism callout: "His calcium gummy is missing K2. That's why his marks stopped moving."

2. Pediatrician callout: "This is what's missing from his Amazon calcium gummy. And it's why his ped's growth chart hasn't moved."

3. Direct command: "Stop buying calcium gummies for your son. They don't build bone on their own, and almost every one on Amazon skips the cofactor that does."

BEAT 2, DECONSTRUCT THE OLD GUMMY

"It has calcium and Vitamin D. That sounds like enough, but it isn't. Calcium on its own doesn't build bone. It needs Vitamin K2 to actually route it into the skeleton. Without K2, the calcium just drifts through his body and gets wasted. And almost every kids' gummy on Amazon skips the K2 because adding it costs more."

THE HARD LOCK

Never show a brand name on the old bottle. Generic packaging only. We do not name competitors on screen.

STAGING

Photo-real mid-30s mom, neutral kitchen, natural light, deliberately not influencer-glossy. Single static take with NO cuts, because the one continuous shot is the whole authenticity unlock of this format. Both bottles in frame throughout.

Novexa Health (US kids' growth gummies, DTC supplement)

Concept: DCT #363 "The One On My Counter". Kitchen talking head, 40 to 60 seconds.

SUB-AVATAR

The worried mom of a short son who has been giving him a calcium gummy for months and seen nothing move. Figured-it-out energy on camera, tired of wait and see, wants one straight reason this one is different.

THE ONE ANGLE

They all load him up with calcium. This is the one with the vitamin K2 that actually files that calcium into his bones instead of letting it wash straight through.

WHY IT WORKS

A mom in her real kitchen giving one honest reason reads like a friend's tip, not an ad. This parent is already buying the category, so we do not sell calcium. We explain why the last one did nothing.

HOOK 1

"Still the smallest kid in his class, and you can see it starting to get to him? It's probably not the growth gummy you're giving him, it's what's missing from it."

BRIDGE 1

"I gave my son a calcium one every morning for the better part of a year. Nothing. And the pediatrician just kept saying give it time, he'll catch up. I couldn't keep waiting on give it time."

THE FLIP (load-bearing, from the shared hold)

"So nothing I'd been giving him was wasted, it just never had the rest of the crew with it."

THE CLOSE (soft)

"So if you've got a calcium gummy sitting on your counter that hasn't done anything, check if it even has the K2. If it doesn't, that's your answer."

STAGING IS THE FORMAT

Real kitchen, daylight, mom centre frame with her hands busy on a cutting board or packing a lunch. One continuous setup, product picked up once. Candid and conversational, zero performance energy. A friend telling you a thing over the counter.

CREATIVE BRIEF (Forciano, height-increasing footwear, US and Europe)

Concept: DCT #11, the female-recommendation format. Shown here through DCT #52, the LUXOR sniper written off it.

Written by Hugo Fetiza · Video 9:16 · 3 hooks, 1 shared hold, 3 total ads · Approach: Iteration

DESIRE / CORE AVATAR

"I want to command presence in the room without explaining myself." The Practical Problem-Solver, the same character across all three variations.

WHY A SNIPER, NOT A REWRITE

DCT 11 is the proven winner in this account and LUXOR is the proven hero product. A sniper isolates the single highest-leverage variable, the hook, by holding the winning body completely constant and testing three entry points into it. Nothing else moves. We only read which opening pulls best.

That is the whole discipline here. When something is already winning, the temptation is to rewrite it. The correct move is to change exactly one thing and find out what that one thing is worth.

HOOK 1, THE CONTROL (the original winner's opening)

"Okay so I found something for guys under 5'8" who just want to be taller, and trust me, this is worth every penny."

HOOK 2, THE SKEPTIC BUSTER

"if you're a guy under 5'8" who thinks height shoes are a gimmick, I get it, I thought the same thing until I actually looked into these." Bridge: "because wanting to be taller was never the hard part, finding something that isn't uncomfortable or obvious was, and these are the first ones that actually solve both."

HOOK 3, WE NOTICE

"I'll be honest with you, and guys under 5'8" can take this or leave it, but us girls notice when a guy isn't confident, whether he admits it or not."

THE SHARED HOLD, HELD CONSTANT

"What makes them different is that the height boost isn't something you add in, it's precision engineered directly into the shoe from the start using their Elevation System. 54,000 men have already made the switch and the only thing they regret is not finding it sooner. They wear them all day every day because the comfort matches the confidence."

SETTING (matched to the winner)

Clean professional product-showcase studio, NOT a public shoe store. A branded showroom with a curated display of the brand's own shoes in the background as visual social proof: a real brand with a real collection. Warm professional lighting, no ambient store noise.

WHAT IT DID

Peak 3.2 ROAS. It took roughly half the account's weekly spend and briefly became the top-spending ad, out-spending the US campaign. It then got rolled out across all three of the brand's ad accounts and became the base for the DCT 39, 52 and 53 iterations.

CREATIVE BRIEF (exported from Notion, where we actually run these)

Neptune Health (US skincare, grass-fed tallow and Manuka honey balm)

Concept: DCT #59 "3 Questions To Ask Before You Buy Tallow"

Written by Hugo Fetiza

Format: Video ad, 4:5 and 9:16. 3 hooks feeding 1 shared body. Roughly 75 to 90 seconds.

Approach: Imitation of a proven authority buyer's-guide ad.

Production: confident authority voiceover over b-roll, burned-in captions, straight to product page.

1. THE BIG IDEA
DESIRE / CORE AVATAR

"I got burned by tallow once. I want to know how to tell the real one from the junk before I buy again."

SUB-AVATAR

The sophisticated, been-let-down comparison shopper. She already tried tallow, felt nothing, and blames herself or the ingredient. The framework hands her a reason it wasn't her fault, she bought one that fails the test, and a tool so it won't happen again.

THE ANGLE

"Before you buy tallow from anyone, ask these 3 questions." An interrogation framework.

Q1 freshness: made fresh in small batches, or mass-produced and sitting in a warehouse.

Q2 purity: four real ingredients, or fillers and mineral oil and fragrance.

Q3 origin: grass-fed and traceable, or the cheapest imported commercial grade.

WHY

This is a sophistication-stage upgrade of the real-versus-fake thread that is already earning, delivered as a buyer's guide that arms the viewer with a test every cheap tallow fails. It is not a direct attack, which makes it more defensible, and the product genuinely passes all three, so the device works honestly.

2. AD STRUCTURE

HOOK 1 (closest to the reference)

"I've tried basically every tallow brand out there, and most of them are just mass-produced commercial junk, so before you waste your money on another one, here are three questions you should ask before you buy tallow from anyone."

Overlay: 3 questions to ask before you buy tallow

HOOK 2 (got-burned)

"If you tried tallow and it did nothing, you probably bought the cheap commercial kind, so here are the three questions that tell you if a tallow is actually worth buying."

Overlay: how to tell real tallow from junk

HOOK 3 (challenge)

"Most tallow brands would fail this, so before you buy any tallow, ask them these three questions, because the answers tell you everything."

Overlay: most tallow brands fail this test

SHARED BODY

Visual: fresh-make b-roll, then a warehouse and bulk contrast, then label and ingredient b-roll, then farm and origin b-roll, then a texture and absorption demo.

Setup: "because honestly most tallow is not what you think it is, and these three answers tell you everything."

Question 1, freshness: "first, is it actually made fresh, or is it mass-produced. because most brands render tallow in massive bulk batches that then sit in a warehouse and on a shelf for months, and the fats and vitamins that make tallow work slowly break down the whole time it's sitting there, so by the time you get it, a lot of it's already gone. the answer you want is fresh, made in small batches, not bought in bulk. ours is handmade fresh every single week, so it's still doing something when it reaches your skin."

Question 2, what's actually in it: "second, what's actually in it, because a lot of what's sold as tallow is barely tallow, it's mostly mineral oil or cheap fillers with a bit of fragrance to cover the smell, and that's the stuff that just sits on top and does nothing. the answer you want is a short list you can actually read. ours is four edible-grade ingredients, grass-fed tallow, raw Manuka honey, olive oil and beeswax, and that is genuinely the whole thing, no fragrance, no fillers."

Question 3, where it's from: "and third, where's the tallow actually from, and where's it made, because most commercial tallow is the cheapest imported grade they can get and they can't really tell you where it came from. the answer you want is grass-fed and traceable. ours is grass-fed from small regenerative farms and made right here in the USA."

Payoff: "and that's the whole point, because when it's fresh, when it's actually real tallow, and when it's properly grass-fed, that's when it does what tallow is supposed to do, it melts in and absorbs in about a minute instead of sitting greasy on the surface, and your skin just looks calmer and smoother the longer you use it."

CALL TO ACTION

"so if you've been let down by tallow before, it was almost certainly one that failed those three questions, and this is the one I'd actually trust, so many women have switched to it, and there's a 60-day money-back guarantee, so if it does nothing you just send it back."

Overlay: fresh weekly / 4 ingredients / grass-fed, made in USA / 60-day guarantee

3. THE FRAMEWORK RULE (do not break it)

Each of the three questions MUST be one the product genuinely passes. Q1 fresh weekly, yes. Q2 four real ingredients, yes. Q3 grass-fed and made in USA, yes.

**Never pose a question our own product cannot answer.** The whole device backfires if the product fails its own test.

4. WHAT WE DROPPED FROM THE REFERENCE

The ad we modelled this on made claims we could not stand behind, so they were cut before the brief went out:

  • Vertical-integration claims (controls the entire supply chain, renders within a set number of hours, a named number of farms, hand-rendered in our own facility). No evidence we do this. If the client CAN show their facility or confirm in-house rendering, it upgrades Q2 significantly, but confirm first.
  • Condition claims. The reference credits transforming eczema, psoriasis and hormonal acne. Dropped entirely. Appearance and feel only.
  • Their customer-count number. Theirs, not ours. Social proof stays soft until we have a real verified figure.
  • Their discount. No invented promo.
  • VERIFY BEFORE BUILD
  • SKU: confirm we are on the four-ingredient, no-added-fragrance version before Q2 runs.
  • Offer: confirm any live promo, otherwise the guarantee carries the close.
  • Sourcing: if the client can actually show their process or name their farms, that upgrades Q2 and Q3.
  • 5. COMPLIANCE
  • Appearance and feel only: calmer, smoother, absorbs, not greasy. No condition names. No "heals" or "cures", even though both the reference and our own site use them.
  • The real-versus-fake framing stays category-level. No named competitor brands, and keep "imported commercial grade" about quality, never about nationality.
  • Freshness and absorption are mechanism and quality points, not clinical proof.
  • Every "our answer" has to be verified true before the ad ships.
  • 6. AD COPY (media buyer section)

What's actually in it, a short list you can read, or mostly mineral oil and fillers with fragrance over the top? Australia Paint By Numbers (paint by numbers kits, DTC, Australia)

Concept: Brief 25 "Two Hours Of Calm" (ASMR macro paint fill, music only)

    Written by Hugo Fetiza

    Format: Video ad, 9:16 and 4:5. 3 hooks / 1 shared hold / 3 total ads. About 26 seconds.

Approach: Imitation, built off a competitor ad that had been running 369 days.

Production: no voiceover, music only, one fixed on-screen line held for the whole video.

    1. THE BIG IDEA
    DESIRE / CORE AVATAR

Australian women 35 to 65 who are screen tired and want a calming creative ritual with something beautiful to show for it.

    SUB-AVATAR

The satisfied scroller. She watches ASMR and oddly satisfying clips to decompress and still feels wired afterwards.

    WHY THIS CONCEPT EXISTS

The ad IS the product benefit. Watching paint slowly fill a numbered section gives the viewer the exact calm the kit sells, before they have bought anything. The reference ad ran 369 days on pure satisfaction, with no voiceover and one fixed text line.

    WHAT IT IS

Two floral best sellers, Delicate Flower and Flower Sea, carried entirely by macro paint fill footage and a single line of text.

    HOW IT GETS MADE

No VO. One fixed text line centre screen for the whole video, over the most satisfying macro paint fill clips, cosy warm styling, ending on the two floral artworks plus the offer.

    REFERENCE

Crafty by Numbers mini kits ASMR reel, running 369 days. One fixed line sits centre screen while macro brush strokes fill flower canvases on a cosy desk. Music only. Match its length, about 26 seconds. Copy the fixed line trick and the pacing, never their wording.

    2. AD STRUCTURE

HOOK 1, "The Promise" (fixed on-screen line, no VO)

"Two hours of calm, one number at a time"

Bridge: none. The hook line stays fixed on screen for the whole video. That is the reference's trick. The visuals are the bridge.

    HOOK 2, "The Mirror"

"This is what calm looks like"

Bridge: none. Fixed line format, same as Hook 1.

    HOOK 3, "The Feeling"

"Watch the colours fill in. Feel your shoulders drop."

Bridge: none. Fixed line format, same as Hook 1.

    SHARED HOLD

None. The same fixed line and the music carry the whole body of the video.

CALL TO ACTION (end card, 22 to 26 seconds)

Both floral artworks side by side plus the logo. Text: "Buy 1 Get 1 50% off (add 2 or more to cart)" then "Shop Now".

    3. EDITING GUIDELINES

About 26 seconds, music only, no voiceover anywhere. Macro paint fill clips come from the client footage packs: pick the slowest, most satisfying strokes and crop tight so the design on that canvas is never identifiable, because the packs are not these floral designs. If any pack clip shows flowers being painted, prefer it. Artwork stills are the REAL product images saved from the two product pages, never redrawn and never AI generated.

    ADDITIONAL NOTES
  • Music: calm ambient, no lyrics. Layer in gentle real paint sounds if the pack audio has them.
  • The fixed text line must be readable on both the 4x5 and the 9x16 crop.
  • Australian spelling.
  • No star ratings and no customer counts anywhere.
  • 4. AD COPY (media buyer section)

    PRIMARY TEXT #2

    "Watch The Colours Fill In"

NOTE ON WHY THIS ONE MATTERS

The competitor had already proven this format for 369 days. The job was not to invent something. It was to name what the format was actually doing, which is handing the viewer the exact calm the product sells before she has bought anything, and then rebuild that on our product, our footage and our offer without lifting a single word of theirs.

That is the difference between copying an ad and porting a mechanism.

Social Jet is a Singapore influencer marketing agency. Its owner also runs two consumer events. HomeFest is an interior design expo at Suntec. Reno Fiesta is a renovation fair for new homeowners. I run the Meta side of both, across two ad accounts. The job is media buying rather than creative strategy: account structure, creative testing, budget allocation, scaling what works and cutting what does not.

HomeFest is the clean win. SGD 97,933 spent, 6,291 registrations, SGD 15.57 each. One static took SGD 21,560 of that on its own and returned 2,101 registrations at SGD 10.26. The campaigns are CBO, so that concentration is the auction picking a winner, not a budget I hand-allocated.

Reno Fiesta was the harder account. Registrations were arriving from construction workers instead of homeowners, so the cost per lead read fine while the leads were worth nothing to the client. The fix was a qualifier on the landing page and a budget gate on the form. That raised the cost per registration on purpose and changed who walked through the door. In August I re-ranked every ad on lifetime performance instead of a trailing window and cut 44 of them. The ads I cut had been running at SGD 73.01 a lead. The ones I kept were at SGD 47.72.

When the client asked which of his two ad accounts he should shut off, I pulled three days of matched data and recommended pausing two named campaigns rather than a whole account. His own cheapest campaign stayed on.
